Biologic Brand Strategy

The Challenge

A global biopharmaceutical company with a top biologic therapy for rheumatoid arthritis enlisted the expertise of DKI Health to strategically prepare for impending competition from one of the world’s first biosimilar therapies.

Our Solution

We led a cross-functional biosimilar training and competitive gaming workshop to inform the client about developments in the global biosimilar landscape, assess the potential risks to its business, and develop appropriate strategies to ensure that patients worldwide continued to have access to innovative, targeted therapies.

To ensure client preparedness, we:

  • Conducted both global and country-specific regulatory and policy research and analysis.

  • Developed “shadow brand plans” for biosimilar companies with associated brands, based on thorough evaluation of their development and commercial strategies.

  • Created analytical frameworks to assess potential risks and impact to innovative biologics.

  • Facilitated team brainstorming on strategies to mitigate the impact to patients.

  • Assisted the team in the execution of select strategies and tactics.

Benefit to client

Rapid Familiarization with Global Biosimilar Landscape: The client team became quickly informed on the evolving global biosimilar landscape, was able to assess potential risks, and was prepared to proactively identify and implement strategies to support innovative biologics for patients worldwide.
